So on the 5th of February my 2017 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E began alarming out of nowhere around 9pm in my driveway at home. On the 6th I reached out to my Honda dealership and explained what happened. An advisor there told me to start with replacing my battery, since I told him I have the same battery that came with the truck in 2017. I purchased a battery at Advance Auto, the next day the alarm went off again and my dash lit up like a Christmas tree. On the 10th I took it to Honda for a proper diagnosis. Ourisman Honda of Laurel told me the start/stop button was bad from their code check. So I of course told them to replace that and found out later online there was TSB 20-117 for 2017-2019 Ridgeline ALL TRIMS. So I called up Honda Corp to see why MY exact VIN was not listed under this recall even though it was obviously affected. I was told it just wasn’t and that was it. The next few days went by and everything was ok, until the night of the 18th the headlights came on for almost 30 min, the alarm went off and the whole inside of the truck was going off and clicking LOUDLY. I was upset, I just paid $500 to fix this issue but took it back to my Dealer. They kept my truck for TWO days just to tell me they think the BCM is bad and this would take 3-6 months to get in stock and cost well over $1000. I was not too excited about this, being that my Truck has only 41k miles, I reached back out to Honda Corp with Case# 13642xxx to see if any assistance could be afforded to me. On 6 March Honda reached back out to me telling me there is NOTHING they can do, no refund not even the slightest assistance for the absolute headache and WASTE of time reaching out to them! This is faulty Honda equipment all expenses paid by me now(Close to $2000) for their manufacturing issue. All because MY VIN does not match whatever they say it needs to. Total cop out and trickery by Honda, I will be glad going back to my trusty Toyota when I can trade in this Junk someday soon. No wonder they are on a fast decline in the Automotive industry, because they DO NOT take care of their customers.
