Poor customer service

Me and another customer was waiting to be checked out for approximately 3-4 minutes in full view of the manager, who was supposed to be checking. She was talking to a pest control vendor the whole time we was waiting, and I said to her, do you think we could be waited on and she said I’m talking to someone and I said I would like to be checked out , she said you can check yourself out with the self checkout, I responded with I don’t know how and wasn’t aware of it, and if you would stop visiting and check us out and she told me I’m not visiting, this is business, i said maybe you should wait on customers, it was suggested I was being rude , that was not my intention . I also inquired why the store had been closing way early ( only store this community has ) and she said the workers were getting to hot making them sick, I said I never heard of of a retail store closing because of outside temps , I said a lot of us have to work out in the heat, so whatever. I do not have the ability to get things that are behind the counter or the ice outside that is locked up, therefore self checkout is not always an option, i said maybe I need to talk to your supervisor, and she responded with, I’m the boss and the one above me will agree with me, not a very good experience, I’ve lived in this community for 58 years and used to be the mayor here for what that’s worth. A little more professionalism would be appreciated. Thanks
